Appuntamenti Musicali Verdiani - these short, free concerts on four Sundays in June will showcase selections from Verdi's works

- June 16th - Giovanni Music, School of Music and Fine Art Gallery (7:00 - 8:30 pm)

July:
Verdi Festival Launch - the formal launch will be on Wednesday, July 24th at 10 am at City Hall [free admission]
August:
Verdi per Tutti - The "Verdi and Italian Spirit" noon main-stage performance takes place at Edmonton's SERVUS Heritage Festival on Sunday, August 4th and is an antipasto of song, music and dance [free admission]
September:
Verdi and Spoken Word - This celebration of Verdi through his lyrics and music as well as the words of contemporary writers is in keeping with Edmonton's reputation as a centre for performance poetry. The two performances will take place at 12 noon and 7 pm at City Hall on Wednesday, September 18th [free admission]
Verdi and La Gioventu - a performance event aimed at showcasing young talent will take place on Saturday, September 28th at 7 pm, Theatre Hall, Santa Maria Goretti Centre [free admission]
October:
Viva Verdi - a Gala Concert at the Winspear Centre, Friday evening October 11th at 7:00 pm featuring the Edmonton Youth Orchestra, Edmonton Opera Chorus and featured soloists [ticketed event - Children to age 12 - $15; 13 + $35] TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED FROM THE WINSPEAR BOX OFFICE BEGINNING JULY 1ST - Tickets at the Winspear
November:
Incontro con Verdi - CIFES "20-Regions of Italy Extravaganza" Mini-Conference - November 1 - 3 at the Santa Maria Goretti Community Centre. This educational and celebratory event will feature two Verdi experts - Renato Garavaglia, esteemed Director of La Scala Theatre Museum from the world renowned Italian opera house of TEATRO ALLA SCALA, Milan, Italy; and Professor Philip Gossett, American Musicologist and Historian from the University of Chicago and La Sapienza in Italy [Ticketed event - from $15 to $65 depending on the event]
